Popular truck stop chain to pay employees who voluntarily take COVID-19 vaccine

Published:

This week, Love’s Travel Stops announced a new program to encourage all employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Thursday, January 28, Love’s announced that they were the first nationwide travel stop network to offer all employees an incentive to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

All Love’s employees who receive the vaccine will receive an additional $75 in pay, the company says.

The incentive program is offered to all Love’s workers, including truck stop employees and those who work for Love’s Truck Care and Speedco centers, alternative fuel provider Trillium, its commodity trading company Musket, the Gemini trucking fleet, and Love’s affiliated hotels.

“A big element of our culture is taking care of our team members so we’re always thinking of new ways to do that,” said Love’s President Shane Wharton. “As an essential business, our employees have worked tirelessly to keep America moving, and the vaccine, along with following safety protocols, offers the best protection from COVID-19. The incentive is another way of encouraging our employees to stay safe during the pandemic.”

Earlier this week, Love’s announced major plans for expansion in 2021, with plans to add up to 50 new stores and 3000 new truck parking spaces in the new year.
