Suspect at the wheel of big rig killed by Pennsylvania troopers after standoff at rest stop

A suspect is dead following a standoff with state police at a Pennsylvania rest area on Tuesday morning.

The incident began around 4:30 a.m. at a rest area located off eastbound I-80 in Greene Township, Pennsylvania.

According to local outlet WNEP, troopers were called to the rest area for a robbery.

When police attempted to take the suspect into custody, the suspect reportedly rammed vehicles with his big rig.

Pennsylvania State Police opened fire on the driver of the truck.

The suspect died from his injuries.

Multiple state troopers suffered minor injuries.

The rest area is shut down while the investigation continues.
