The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has confirmed that a truck driver lost his life over the weekend after a load he was attempting to secure fell on him after he pulled over on the shoulder.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday near Luther, Oklahoma.
Troopers say that 37 year old North Carolina-based truck driver Mario Terrell Harrison was driving west on the Turner Turnpike when he stopped near mile marker 149 to check his load.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the load shifted and fell on Harrison.
Harrison was pinned by the load for an unknown amount of time and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers did not provide information about what type of load Harrison was hauling.
The fatal incident remains under investigation.
