UPDATE: Driver who bullied his way through line of cars was trying to flee scene of previous accident

Published:

A truck driver tried to flee the scene of an accident in Mexico late last week and ended up causing a whole lot of chaos.

The incident happened on Thursday, September 9th along the Mexico-Puebla highway in Mexico City.

According to Jalopnik, the truck driver was driving drunk when he struck a taxi and decided to flee the scene, but instead of making a getaway, he chose to plow through a line of cars stopped at a traffic light, pushing at least five more vehicles out of the way as he attempted to flee.

In response to the massive, albeit slow-moving pile-up crash, a few of the motorists teamed up and assaulted the truck driver, leaving him with some minor injuries. Somehow, the trucker was the only one hurt in the incident.

The truck driver later claimed that his brakes had failed, but police have found no evidence to support that claim.

Check out the updated footage of the utter chaos, below.
