A truck careened off of a bridge in Missouri on Tuesday, creating major traffic backups and injuring the driver.
The accident happened on September 20th just before 8 a.m. west of Mount Vernon, Missouri.
According to KOAM News, the tractor trailer hauling a commercial HVAC unit was heading eastbound on Interstate 44 when it veered left, crashed through a guardrail and careened off of the bridge before landing in the dry creek bed below.
The crash left a portion of the guardrail jutting into the roadway and caused another crash involving a Ford Escape. Two people in the Ford were not hurt in the crash, but the trucker was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Their current condition is not known.
About 100 feet of guardrail was damaged in the incident. No further information has been released.
