FHP: Search for trucker’s body underway after dramatic crash with train

Police say they are still looking for the body of a truck driver involved in a crash with a train in Florida very early on Monday morning. 

The incident happened on November 28th before 3:30 a.m. on the west end of Clewiston, Florida “in the area of” U.S. 27 and Lewis Boulevard.

According to Fox 4 Now, the train collided with the semi truck and derailed. Florida Highway Patrol has deemed the incident a fatality investigation, but as of 10 a.m. the body of the truck driver involved had not been found. 

Conditions in the area were foggy at the time of the crash, but weather has not yet been confirmed as a factor in the crash. Delays and detours are expected to continue in the area. The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office has suggested the following routes:

Northbound traffic thru Harlem via Georgia Ave to Lewis Blvd and north back to US 27

Southbound traffic: Lewis Blvd to Georgia Ave then back north to US 27
