Travel restrictions will soon go into effect in Western New York due to potential high winds from an incoming winter storm.
The New York State Thruway Authority says that tandem and empty trucks will be banned from the New York State Thruway starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, December 21st.
According to Spectrum News 1, the ban will impact I-90 from exit 46 in Henrietta to the Pennsylvania line and I-190 until further notice.
Wind gusts are expected to reach between 40 and 50 mph around Rochester and as high as 70 mph near Buffalo.
