I-25 shut down for arrest of truck-driving homicide suspect 

Interstate 25 in Colorado was shut down on Wednesday as police arrested a homicide suspect driving a semi truck. 

The incident happened on December 28th just before 3 p.m. on southbound I-25 near the Ray Nixon Road exit south of Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

According to 11 News, Colorado State Patrol received reports of a possible homicide suspect driving a semi truck along the interstate and responded to the scene. Police then closed the highway and pulled the driver over in order to take the suspect into custody. 

A Colorado Department of Transportation camera showed officers inspecting the truck’s trailer at around 3:10 p.m. The driver was arrested without incident. The roadway was reopened around 4 p.m.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office reports that a body was found close to S. Chambers Road and Digicomm Drive at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, and that the suspect was taken into custody in connection to this incident. 

No further information has been released.
