Police in Houston, Texas, are investigating the death of a man who climbed on top of a moving tractor trailer last week.
The fatal incident occurred around 11:35 a.m. on November 10 at 2500 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) in Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), a red Kenworth tractor trailer was traveling southbound on Eastex Freeway when, without the truck driver’s knowledge, a 25 year old male “jumped or climbed” onto the truck’s trailer.
“The male then began dancing and possibly recording himself,” HPD said. “As the 18-wheeler passed underneath the Tuam Street bridge, the male was struck and knocked off the trailer onto the freeway main lanes.”
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
HPD said the the truck driver “was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.”
The incident remains under investigation.
