Law enforcement agencies in multiple states are partnering this week to target commercial vehicle drivers traveling on I-94.
From November 28 through December 2, 2022, troopers with the Michigan State Police (MSP), Indiana State Police, and Illinois State Police are conducting an operation called “Eyes on 94″ designed to reduce commercial vehicle crashes.
During the blitz, troopers will focus on commercial vehicle driver violations likely to increase the risk of a crash on I-94, including speeding, distracted driving, following too closely, failure to move over, and improper lane use.
“This enforcement effort is a great example of the commitment by the MSP CVED, Indiana State Police, and Illinois State Police to reach our common goal of increasing traffic safety and reducing crashes,” stated Capt. Richard Arnold, commander of the MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
“This coordinated operation is an effort to increase awareness by means of high visibility enforcement on the I-94 freeway, which is prone to weather-related crashes involving interstate commercial vehicle drivers this time of year,” Arnold said.
