New Hampshire covered bridge damaged by big rig

A covered bridge located in Jackson, New Hampshire, is closed due to damage caused when a semi truck driver attempted to cross.

The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on June 1, 2022, at the Jackson Covered Bridge (also known as the Honeymoon Covered Bridge) on Route 16A over the Ellis River.

Local outlet the Conway Daily Sun reports that the truck driver followed his GPS and got stuck about 10 feet in, then decided to back out, causing damage to the bridge.
