One EMT dead, one injured after semi truck slams into responding ambulance 

One EMT is dead and another is hurt after a semi truck struck an ambulance responding to a previous medical emergency in Wyoming. 

The accident happened near Rawlins early on Wednesday, December 21st on Interstate 80. 

According to Casper Star Tribune, the ambulance was attempting to respond to a medical emergency on I-80 when their ambulance was struck by a semi truck. The force of the impact killed one and injured another EMT. It is unclear if the truck driver was hurt in the crash. 

I-80 between Rawlins and Creston Junction was closed at about 10 a.m. CST for cleanup and investigation of the incident. Officials estimate the roadway will reopen between 2 and 4 p.m. CST. 

It is unclear whether the truck driver will face charges.
