Truck driver runs into trouble on bridge, according to California Highway Patrol

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that a bridge will be closed through this evening after a semi truck got stuck on the structure.

The incident was reported on the morning of Tuesday, May 17, in Nevada County by CHP’s Grass Valley division.

Troopers said that a truck became stuck on Dog Bar Road at the Bear River Bridge in Grass Valley, California. .

CHP did not provide details on how the truck became struck but did suggest that the driver ignored signs. “Apparently all the warning signs in the world don’t matter,” CHP said in a Facebook post.

CHP reported that a tow truck was working on removing the stuck semi, but there is concern over the structural integrity of the bridge.

Troopers say that drivers should expect the bridge to be closed until at least 7:00 p.m tonight. Drivers are advised to use Highway 49 and 174.
