Police issued multiple charges to a truck driver who allegedly failed to stop for police while filling out a log book while on the road.
The incident occurred in Caledon, Ontario, according to a Thursday morning Tweet from the Ontario Provincial Police’s Central Region.
From OPP:
“Filling out your log book & pre-trip inspection while driving = bad. Doing that while failing to stop for officer = even worse. Driver charged with seatbelt offense, Careless Driving, Fail to Stop, & numerous document charges.“
Local outlet CTV News reports that the truck driver was initially spotted behind the wheel while not wearing a seat belt, but then the officer saw the driver “take hold of a large clipboard and begin to fill out his log book and pre-trip inspection forms – while driving.”
The outlet also reported that the truck driver was pulled over about 30 minutes after the initial traffic stop for a seat belt violation. This time, the driver was issued a summons for the seat belt violation.
