A trucker’s wife is asking for the public’s help in gathering information on her missing husband after two police departments declined to take responsibility.
Patricia Harris says that she last saw her husband, John Davis, drive away from their home in Trinity Gardens outside of Houston on Halloween of last year. Since then, she hasn’t heard from him, but his semi truck was found at a truck stop outside of Mount Vernon, Texas in the spring of 2022. Now, she says neither the Houston Police Department or the Mount Vernon Police Department are claiming responsibility for the missing persons case.
Harris says her husband was her best friend, and that the two were attempting to reconcile after a rough patch in their marriage when he disappeared. She says that he left for the Dallas/Fort Worth area that day to return a truck, and soon afterwards she started getting strange phone calls leading her to believe something has happened to him.
”The only thing this guy [the truck owner] ever said to me is ‘Have you heard anything.’”
“Two days later, it was like Nov. 2, and it registered to me. Something’s not right,” she said to ABC 13.
”[Investigators] called the owner to come pick his truck up. The owner didn’t come pick the truck up. They towed the truck,” she said to Click 2 Houston.
Harris eventually contacted Houston police about his disappearance, and the Mount Vernon Police Department got involved when his truck was found in their jurisdiction, but now, neither department seems to be taking action to find Davis, who has not been heard from.
“So it’s like, right now it’s nobody’s case,” Harris says.
She hopes that someone out there might have seen Davis, his truck, or anything that might help give her clues as to what might have happened to him.
“I won’t stop until I find out,” she says.
