Two dead after dump truck strikes overpass in Pennsylvania 

Two people are dead after a dump truck struck an overpass in Lehigh County on Monday. 

The accident happened on November 7th in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania at about 9:52 a.m. 

According to Lehigh County, a dump truck was hauling a skid steer on a trailer in the right lane of Interstate 78 east when it struck Adams Road overpass. The force of the impact caused the dump truck bed and trailer to detach from the truck and the entire rig rolled over. The truck came to a rest on near mile marker 48. 

Two people inside of the dump truck died. One man was pronounced dead at 10:48 a.m. and the other at 12:23 p.m. Their identities have not been released. 

I-78 east was still closed as of 3:20 pm CST. The left lane of I-78 west was reopened at approximately 1:30 pm CST.
