Wyoming ‘Trooper in a Truck’ blitz results in dozens of citations

Troopers with the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) recently took part in a ‘Trooper in a Truck’ traffic enforcement effort.

On June 16, WHP troopers participated in a “high intensity traffic enforcement campaign called Trooper in a Truck,” according to WHP’s Commercial Carrier division.

During the three hour blitz, a trooper riding along in a truck was on the lookout for various violations. When any violations were spotted, the trooper contacted marked patrol units to conduct a traffic stop.

Thirty-six traffic stops were conducted as part of the Trooper in a Truck effort, resulting in the following:

  • Speeding Citations — 19
  • Insurance/License Violations — 6
  • No Seatbelt — 2
  • Possession of Controlled Substance — 1
  • Warrant for Arrest — 1
  • Warnings — 18
  • Crash/Assist — 4
  • CMV Inspections — 3
  • Driver Out of Service — 2
  • No CDL — 1

The Trooper in a Truck effort was conducted in partnership with the LCCC CDL Program.

Other states that have participated in “Trooper in a Truck” activities include IndianaIllinois, and New Hampshire.
