Young driver fatally ejected in northeast Texas crash

A young truck driver is dead after being ejected from his truck in Texas on Wednesday night. 

The accident happened on March 9th near Sulphur Springs, Texas at around 11 p.m. 

According to KLTV News, 29-year-old Fadi Kathawa was driving east on Interstate 30 seven miles east of Sulphur Springs when, for unknown reasons, they veered off the interstate and struck a guardrail. The rig then rolled over across the eastbound lanes and was struck by another tractor trailer. 

“The driver of Vehicle 1 (the Freightliner) was ejected and died at the scene,” the press release stated.

The driver of the second truck, 33-year-old Lester Brown, was treated at the scene and released. 

Multiple lanes of I-30 were shut down as crews cleared the wreckage, but have since been reopened.
