Brake failure led trucker to drive off boat ramp into water, Washington sheriff says

Published:

A semi truck driver survived a terrifying ordeal in Washington on Wednesday that left his truck completely submerged in a body of water.

The incident occurred on January 11 in Manchester, Washington, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).

KCSO says that a truck loaded with 50,000 pounds lost its brakes while traveling on E. Main.

“The driver of the out-of-control truck decided his safest course of action was to aim for the boat ramp, where he ended up underwater,” KCSO said.

The driver was able to escape from the submerged semi truck without major injuries.
