Driver-on-driver shooting sends one to hospital

Trucker shoots trucker in a road rage incident on the side of a Missouri Interstate that sent one of the drivers to the hospital.

The altercation happened on Tuesday, October 31st in Franklin County, Missouri at around 10:30 a.m. at the 225.2 mile marker on eastbound I-44.

According to KMOV 4 News, Witnesses saw the truck drivers pull onto the shoulder of I-44 and get out of their trucks. An argument occurred, and at one point one of the drivers went back to his truck, grabbed a gun, and shot the other driver in the abdomen.

Witnesses say the shot driver was awake and moving as he was put onto a stretcher. He was then transported by helicopter to a hospital in St. Louis.

“Well, it’s rather shocking,” said Mary Ann Tayloe, who works nearby. “There was a gentleman on a stretcher, and he was being put on a stretcher, and it looked like he was awake and moving,” she said.

The other truck driver was arrested, but his identity has not been released.
