Florida troopers warn about serial semi truck tire slasher

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is on the lookout for a suspected former truck driver who is slashing semi truck tires.

FHP says that there have been recent six instances of semi truck tire slashing in Columbia County. The acts of vandalism have taken place near Lake City off of I-10, I-75, and S.R. 47.

WCJB reports that troopers believe that the person slashing the tires is a disgruntled former truck driver.

While troopers haven’t yet identified the suspect, they have obtained images and video of a suspect in the act. In the images, you can see that the suspect is male with a medium build wearing a baseball cap, t-shirt with a logo, jeans, and gloves.

“If you got 18 tires and those tires can run anywhere from 300 to 500 dollars a piece, it could get very, very expensive, like to the tune of 10 or 12 thousand dollars,” FHP’s Patrick Riordan told the outlet.
