Foggy conditions cause pile up crash in Louisiana involving three semi trucks, two deaths, and 30 injuries.
The series of crashes happened on Monday morning, October 23rd in Manchac, Louisiana in heavy fog on Interstate 55 north and south.
Dense fog & smoke have combined to form what is known as Superfog (yes, it is the technical name) & this is still heavily impacting I-55 between Ponchatoula & LaPlace. The interstate was still closed according to @La_DOTD due to multiple accidents. Fog is slowly improving. pic.twitter.com/xwovJBbuco

The wrecks forced police to run to crash sites on foot due to backed up traffic. Officers say at least 100 people were also traveling on foot following the wrecks.
This incident is still under investigation.
