Fuel tanker truck driver dies in crash after ‘trailer started to spin’

A fuel tanker truck driver lost his life in a single vehicle crash on a Utah interstate on Tuesday.

The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. on October 10 near Henefer, Utah.

Authorities say that a tanker truck driver was hauling a load of fuel west on I-84 when he lost control near mile marker 117.

The Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) said that the “trailer started to spin,” then the truck and trailer rolled, and the tank became detached.

The truck driver passed away at the scene. The identity of the truck driver has not been released.

The crash resulted in a fuel spill.

Police have not provided information on what led the truck driver to lose control.

I-84 was closed in both directions for hours on Tuesday.
