Loose semi truck tire kills two women, injures three more on I-94 in Minnesota 

Loose semi truck tire kills two women and leaves three more injured on Interstate 94 in Wright County, Minnesota on Saturday night. 

The accident happened on October 21st near St. Michael just before 5 p.m. on eastbound I-94. 

According to Kare11 News, a Freightliner was heading west on I-94 when it lost two tires. One of the tires bounced into the eastbound lanes and smashed into a sedan with five people inside, killing two and injuring the other three. 

44-year-old Viengkhone Nguyen and 43-year-old Lea Khamphachanh died in the crash. The three others inside of the vehicle were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was not hurt. 

It is unclear whether the truck driver will be issued a citation for the incident. The accident is still under investigation.
