New video shows plane hitting a moving semi before fiery crash landing on Texas roadway

Video released on Thursday shows the moment that a small airplane struck a semi truck as the pilot made an emergency landing attempt near Houston last weekend.

The crash occurred around 11:15 a.m. on January 22 in Harris County, Texas, on the Grand Parkway toll road.

The pilot of the Bonanza 35 told air traffic controllers that he lost engine power and would attempt a crash landing on the roadway. During the landing, the plane made contact with a moving semi truck before crashing down to the roadway and catching fire.

The pilot and the truck driver survived the incident without serious injuries.
