Passenger in different rig run over by semi truck backing into parking space

A woman was struck and killed by a semi truck backing into a parking spot at a business in Minnesota on Monday evening.

The accident occurred on February 13th in a parking lot on the 4100 block of Roosevelt Road in St. Cloud, Minnesota at around 6 p.m.

According to CBS, the 43-year-old woman, who was a passenger in a different semi truck, was walking through the parking lot to access the business when she was run over by a rig backing into a parking space.

The 47-year-old unnamed truck driver was not aware that he had struck someone until a witness notified him, officials say according to KROC.

The victim and driver in the accident have not been publicly identified, and investigators say they do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
