A truck driver was killed in a 22 vehicle pileup crash in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Sunday morning.
The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, on westbound I-40 at the I-35 junction in Oklahoma City.
Local outlet News 9 reports that seven semi trucks and fifteen passenger vehicles were involved in the pileup crash.
One of the semi trucks involved in the pileup slid off I-40 into the Oklahoma River below.
The truck driver did not survive. The body of the truck driver was recovered by a dive team.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Trooper Preston Cox said that weather could have contributed to the pileup: “Right now it’s still under investigation but of course with 22 cars involved on the roadway and the temperatures drop last night with the amount of rain it’s very possible.”
The cause of the pileup is under investigation.
