Truck driver fled scene of deadly crash through intersection

A truck driver has been arrested after fleeing the scene of a deadly crash through an intersection that killed one and injured others.

The accident happened at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 3rd in Parker, Arizona near California Avenue and Riverside Drive. 

According to Fox 10, the semi truck crashed into a line of three stopped cars sitting at an intersection with a red light. The force of the collision sent the three cars and the semi truck into the parking lot of a nearby gas station. The semi truck and one of the cars struck the building and caught fire. Another car smashed into a boulder before landing on its roof. 

One person died in the incident and several others were hurt. The truck driver, Karan Singh, fled the scene of the accident but was later found and taken to the hospital. 

Singh has since been arrested for second degree murder and eight counts of aggravated assault. Police believe impairment was a factor in the crash. No further information has been released.
