A truck driver lost his life in a single vehicle crash in Kansas on Monday night.
The crash occurred on Monday, January 2, near Salina, Kansas.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), “At approximately 9:15pm in Saline county, a Freightliner was traveling east on K-143. At the junction of Old 81, the driver failed to yield, vaulting the semi into a ditch embankment.”
Thirty-six year old Fresno, California, resident Gurmeet S. Deol was the only person inside the truck at the time of the crash. He passed away at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
Local outlet WIBW reports that the crash caused the truck’s load of frozen meat to shift forward.
The crash remains under investigation.
