Truck driver killed in train collision that resulted in major derailment

Authorities in Texas say that a truck driver did not survive a Monday morning collision with a train in Montgomery County.

The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on February 13 near Houston, Texas.

The East Montgomery County Fire Department reports that a train vs. truck crash occurred at Highway 59 and Midline Road.

When first responders arrived on scene, they found multiple railcars derailed as well as a truck with major damage.

The truck driver sustained injuries in the crash and did not survive.

Drivers are asked to avoid the avoid the northbound feeder of Highway 59 north of FM2090 for several hours.

The crash is under investigation by the Splendora Police Department.
