Trucker says trailer snapping led to wreck that sent logs rolling

A truck driver says his logging trailer broke while hauling logs in east Texas on Thursday afternoon, causing a wreck that scattered wood across the roadway.

The accident occurred on December 28th in Polk County, Texas west of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation at around noon.

According to KJAS News, 62-year-old trucker Duane Trainer was heading north on FM 1276, 3 miles south of Highway 190, when his trailer loaded with logs broke. The break caused the load to shift, which caused the truck to overturn.

Trainer and his dog Shorty were able to escape the overturned rig without injury. No further information has been released.
