Two drivers were hospitalized after an axle came off of a third rig on Interstate 35 on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred on July 11th at around 6 p.m. near Topeka, Kansas on northbound I-35.
According to 12 WIBW, 45-year-old truck driver Abdikarim F. Guliad was heading north on I-35 when the rig lost an axle, causing Guliad to lose control of the rig. A second truck driven by 38-year-old Pardeep Singh then swerved to avoid Guliad’s truck and ended up sliding into a barrier wall. A third semi truck driven by 24-year-old Randy J. Young then struck the loose tire and axle.
Guliad and Singh were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Young was not injured in the accident. No further information has been released.
