VIDEO: A trucker’s desire for chips takes him into dangerous territory

A trucker’s need for a snack causes wreck, sacrifices safety in this unfortunate dash cam video. 

In the clip, a truck driver is traveling down an empty two lane highway with fields on either side when he decides it’s time for a snack. He looks around the cab, realizes the chips are back in the sleeper, and fiddles with the curtain for a second before deciding to unbuckle his seatbelt and reach back into the bunk – all while keeping his hand on the wheel. 

Things quickly take a turn for the dangerous when the truck veers off the road. The driver manages to maintain control for a moment, but eventually loses it and the rig flips, sending the driver and his belongings rolling around the cab. 

“I’m a trucker. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes,” commented one viewer. 

“He must have done it a few times successfully and this time lost everything,” added another. 

“If he didn’t touch the wheel it would have been straight,” wrote a third.
