90% of truck drivers are voting in the presidential election this year, poll shows

An overwhelming majority of truck drivers are participating in the 2024 presidential election by casting their vote, a recent poll shows.

The poll was conducted on the CDLlife app on Friday afternoon, November 1st and had 536 respondents as of 2:25 p.m. on Monday, November 4th. Of those 536 truckers, 67% responded that they had already voted early, and 4% responded that they still planned on voting early.

19% of the truckers polled responded that they plan on voting on Election Day, and the remaining 10% responded with “No,” they did not plan on voting.

In the comments, some truckers went on to detail their experiences voting in person and through mail-in ballots.

“I had my ballot with me on the truck,” wrote CDLLife App user ‘Pro Driver Alex.’ “One night on the road I did some research & filled in my choices. Maybe 2 days later I delivered & did a pickup within my area. So I parked the truck near my home and put my ballot in a drop box.”

“I voted early at home,” commented CDLLife App user ‘Trucker Boom Boom.’ “Requested a short route so I could go vote.”

The Pew Research Center reports that 66% of eligible voters participated in the 2020 presidential election – the highest turnout rate for any US election since the year 1900. A 2020 poll conducted by CDLLife with more than 2,000 respondents revealed that 75% of participating truckers cast their vote for Trump during the last presidential election.
