Man’s body left on median for four days after highway hit and run accident with semi truck in Pennsylvania, police say.
The accident happened on Saturday morning, March 9th, but Devin Habib’s body was not found until Tuesday night, March 12th on Interstate 80 near New Castle, Pennsylvania.
According to WKBN, Habib got into an argument with the mother of one of his four children, causing her to drop him off on I-80 and even throw his belongings out of the car. The woman then called some family members to let them know she had left him there. Several days later, the family had still not heard from Habib and started to worry.
“Even if something would’ve happened to him on 80, we figured we would’ve been notified or the police would’ve noticed,” said Devin’s father, John.
It was only then that Devin’s brother Josh organized the search party that discovered Habib’s body on a median along I-80 on Tuesday night.
The Pennsylvania State Police believe that Habib was struck by a passing westbound semi truck early on Saturday morning. Troopers say it was a newer Freightliner Cascadia, but the exact year is unknown. The rig may also have a driver-side headlight missing, but investigators say that they do not have any further information on the vehicle.
Anyone with information about the accident is urged to call the Pennsylvania State Police.
“If the truck driver would please — we don’t hold no animosities against him. We understand it was an accident, but to just give us and the family a peace of mind,” John said.
