Border Patrol sniffs out 825 pounds of liquid meth in semi truck’s fuel tanks

A canine unit led U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) officers to discover a large amount of illegal drugs concealed in an unusual spot on a semi truck.

The drug seizure occurred on October 3, 2024, at a USBP border crossing station located in Indio, California.

According to El Centro Sector USBP Chief Patrol Agent Gregory, a canine unit assisted agents in searching a semi truck that approached the border crossing.

After performing a physical search on the vehicle, authorities discovered 825 pounds of liquid methamphetamine concealed in the fuel tanks of the semi truck.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $990,000.

“…this seizure put a big dent in the profits of criminals!” officials said.
