A bridge in Iowa collapsed beneath the weight of a semi truck hauling hay on Thursday.
The incident occurred on August 22nd in rural Plymouth county south of Struble, Iowa.
According to SiouxLandProud News, the commercial vehicle was hauling an oversize load of hay west on 120th Street when it attempted to cross the bridge. The load of hay struck the top rails of the bridge and shifted the load of hay forward, causing the bridge to collapse with the tractor trailer still on it.
The truck driver was not hurt in the incident.
Heavy wreckers were able to remove the semi truck from the rubble, but there is still no estimate for when the bridge may be removed, or even if it will be replaced. No further information has been released.
