The California Highway Patrol (CHP) recently came to the aid of a driver hauling boxes of strawberries.
According to CHP – Coastal Division, a load of strawberries was not properly secured and some boxes were lost as the driver entered US 101 in Santa Maria, California.
“Thankfully, it was not as bad as it could have been,” CHP said.
Troopers ensured that additional tie downs were added to help secure the strawberry boxes before the truck was escorted to a safe location.
The driver was issued a warning.
CHP also offered the company training on load securement.
CHP offers free educational seminars for drivers and motor carriers through the Commercial Industry Education Program (CIEP).
