Popular convenience chain Kwik Trip earned praise from the trucking community by taking aim at rival Buc-ee’s for anti-trucker company policies.
While Buc-ee’s has developed a cult following for its clean restrooms and snack options, it’s well known in the trucking community that the store does not allow truck parking and is not considered “trucker friendly” — more on that here.
That’s why so many truckers were pleased to see Kwik Trip take to social media to shade the company for excluding them from the (admittedly kind of awesome) Buc-ee’s experience.
In an August 16, 2024, social media post, Kwik Trip shared a photo with a “No Trucks” sign and the iconic Buc-ee’s beaver logo in the background along with the caption “We don’t do that here Buc-ee’s.”
Kwik Trip also shared an image of someone holding a “Yes Trucks” sign on store property.
The social media post garnered more than 5,500 reactions and hundreds of comments from truckers who appreciate the support:
“On behalf of all truck drivers, Kwik Trip / Kwik Star, we thank you! You guys set the standard when it comes to cleanliness of truck stops. Thank you for providing great facilities for us commercial drivers!” said one truck driver.
“Female trucker here… I really appreciate Kwik trips clean truck stops. They’re well lit, clean, and feel safe and welcoming,” another trucker commented.
“5 days a week!! Thank you for making them accessible for us. That’s why you’ll always be #1,” said another person.
