The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is reminding drivers to plan ahead for a super load that will be transported through the state starting next week.
ODOT says that the fifteenth of nearly two dozen “super loads,” and last of four loads exceeding 900,000 pounds is scheduled to leave from a dock on the Ohio River near Manchester on August 7.
“Like the last three loads, this is an air processor known as a cold box used in the silicon chip manufacturing process, measures approximately 23’ tall, 20’ wide, 280’ long, and weighs 916,000 pounds,” said ODOT.
The load will make stops in West Portsmouth, Lucasville, Chillicothe, Rickenbacker, Pickerington, and Pataskala before it is delivered to a new Intel plant in New Albany on August 13.
ODOT warns that the super loads have caused significant traffic delays, and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
