Log truck overturns onto daycare playground

A log truck overturned onto a daycare playground in Little Falls, New Jersey on Tuesday.

The accident happened on May 7th on Patterson Avenue.

According to News 12, the A&M Affordable Landscaping Tree Service driver had cleaned up some trees he chopped down last week and was hauling them away when he experienced an issue with his brakes.

The truck driver lost control of the truck and overturned, landing right on a playground near the roadway. Thankfully, no children were on the playground at the time of the accident, and the truck driver was not seriously hurt.

The truck was seriously damaged in the accident. The fence surrounding the playground also sustained serious damage in the accident.

“They play [in the playground] every day, so thank God everything’s OK and the driver’s OK,” said Kariny Ataide, who has two young daughters that attend the daycare. “The kids were napping.”

Several utility poles also had to be secured following the incident. No further details have been released.
