Man arrested for $100k in poultry theft connected to $400k meat theft via previous ankle monitor

A second man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a semi truck loaded with around $100,000 of poultry products.

38-year-old Jorge Lyen Blanco-Diaz was arrested on Monday, October 14th in Miami-Dade County, Florida on charges of  grand theft of cargo, grand theft of a vehicle and unlawful use of a communications device.

According to NBC Miami, Blanco-Diaz was connected to the September 15th truck theft after police tracked an ankle monitor he was already wearing after being placed on house arrest for two previous cases. The ankle monitor showed that Blanco-Diaz was at the location of the tractor trailer before and after the time of theft.

Since the poultry theft, Blanco-Diaz has been identified as part of a major theft organization involved in the theft of $400,000 worth of meat in September of 2023.
