A man was killed while loading a scissor lift onto a flatbed truck outside of a theater in Florida on Monday.
The accident happened on June 24th just after 9 a.m. outside the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts garage in West Palm Beach, Florida.
According to ABC 25, the man was on a ramp attached to a flatbed semi truck attempting to load a scissor lift when the machine tipped and fell on top of him, crushing him.
“The first-arriving police officers with some assistance lifted that scissor lift off of the man,” said Mike Jachles, the public information officer for the West Palm Beach Department. “It was apparently vertical as he was wheeling it onto the truck. At some point, it fell over landing on him.”
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified only as a contractor in his 50s doing work on the Kravis Center.
The incident is still under investigation. No further information has been released.
