Missouri troopers say semi truck left the scene after fatally striking pedestrian on I-44

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) is asking for public help in locating a semi truck and driver involved in a fatality crash on Monday.

The crash occurred at 1:36 p.m. on November 25 on eastbound I-44 near the 225 mile marker (Sullivan) in Franklin County, Missouri.

Troopers say that a pickup and an SUV were parked along the shoulder of I-44 as a 60 year old man was changing a tire. A semi truck left the right side of the interstate and struck the man changing the tire as well as the SUV and the pickup truck, according to MSHP.

The man who was struck by the truck died at the scene.

The driver of the semi truck left the scene of the fatality crash.

“The tractor trailer is described as a maroon tractor trailer with “ego” marking with blue and black outline. The vehicle has damage to the front passenger side of the cab. If located please contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol at 636-300-2800,” troopers said.
