One motorist’s fatal lane changed knocks bulldozer off semi truck in Houston on Wednesday.
The accident happened on May 8th at about 3:10 p.m. on Interstate 610 the North Loop at Homestead.
According to ABC 13, a motorist in a small Mazda was trying to change lanes when it collided with a semi truck hauling a bulldozer. The force of the collision caused the trucker to lose control of the rig and knocked the bulldozer off of the trailer.
The bulldozer then crossed the concrete barrier and landed in the opposite lane of traffic, colliding with two more cars. Two patients were transported from the scene for treatment. One of the motorists was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident forced the closure of the interstate for more than six hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage, reported KHOU 11. The roadway has since been reopened.
No further information has been released. The incident is still under investigation.
