New York State bans empty trucks from multiple roadways

Ahead of a winter weather storm, New York State transportation officials have banned some types of commercial vehicles from certain roadways on Tuesday.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) issued a commercial vehicle travel ban for “Empty Trucks/Trailers and all Tandem Trucks” on certain routes throughout Western New York, Central New York, and the North Country.

The travel ban was issued due to a multi-hazard storm and extreme high winds in excess of 70 m.p.h.
