“Scruffy” truck driver cut off lights to flee scene of wreck, police say

Police are searching for a “scruffy” truck driver after he rear-ended a car in Ohio earlier this week.

The hit and run accident happened on April 22nd just after 9 p.m. on Interstate 71 near Medina Road and Normandy Park Drive in Montville, Ohio.

The Montville Police Department reports that the red truck was hauling a lowboy trailer west when it rear-ended a vehicle. No one was hurt, but the impact caused “notable damage” to the second vehicle.

“After stopping briefly to examine his truck, the driver fled south on I-71, blacking out all of the lights on the truck,” police said. “The red truck is outfitted with many unique and distinctive red and amber lights, and the driver is described as a 5’8″-5’10” white male, 50-60 years old, with a scruffy white goatee.”

Anyone who recognizes the semi truck is urged to call Officer Hazek at 330-725-8314, Ext. 1607.
