No one was hurt after a semi truck began driving the wrong way on US 131 in Michigan on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened early on October 15th in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was caught on a traffic camera.
According to WZZM13, when drivers heading the correct direction realized what was happening, they began to slow down. At least one truck driver even appears to try to block traffic with his rig to help the wrong-way trucker out.
US 131 was not closed for the incident, but traffic was slowed for a period while troopers worked to get the semi truck turned around.
Wrong-way drivers have been an ongoing issue in Grand Rapids, prompting the installation of detection systems that flash lights at wrong-way drivers and notify police in 2023. The area saw a 34% increase in wrong way driving accidents from 2015 to 2018.
It is unclear if the truck driver will be charged in the incident.
