Published:

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department (HCSD) out of Tennessee is seeking a suspect wanted for several acts of vandalism at a truck stop in Cedar Grove last week.

According to HCSD, the incident took place around midnight on September 11, 2024, at the 101 Travel Plaza located on 104 North at Exit 101 off I-40 in Cedar Grove, Tennessee.

Police say a suspect committed seven acts of vandalism at the truck stop, resulting in approximately $31,000 in damages.

HCSD shared dash cam videos that show the suspect walking between parked semi trucks and puncturing tires.

The action starts at about the 25 second mark in the video below.

In October 2023, the Florida Highway Patrol issued a press release about a suspect who slashed semi truck tires on multiple vehicles overnight as trucks were parked at various entrance and exit ramps along I-75 at the US 90, State Road 47 and US 41/441 exits and on I-10 in Columbia County. See images of the suspect released by Florida troopers below.

A similar incident was reported on October 3, 2023, after a truck driver parked overnight off I-75 at Exit 37 in Adel, Georgia. The truck driver shared a social media video explaining he and his wife pulled off on an exit ramp to sleep. When they woke up in the morning, he said “all 18 tires had been stabbed with what looks like … an ice pick.” He also said that the six tires on the equipment he was hauling were punctured and his lines had been cut.
