Two Indiana State Troopers hospitalized Tuesday afternoon when semi truck smashes through previous crash scene.
The accident happened on March 5th in the northwest region of Indianapolis, Indiana, just after 1 p.m.
According to Fox 59, two troopers were inside of an Indiana State Police car investigating a crash on Interstate 65 southbound, south of 38th Street when a semi truck crashed into them.
āA couple other vehicles pulled up behind them and Iām not sure exactly why. A very short time later, a semi who was illegally driving in the third lane came around the curb and struck all five vehicles,ā Sergeant John Perrine said to WIBC.
The accident wedged the patrol car between several other vehicles, and even forced a tow truck driver to leap over a concrete barrier to avoid being struck by the semi truck.
The officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital. Only minor injuries were reported for other people involved in the incident.
The truck driver was issued several citations for the accident.
